Factsheet Five project

Factsheet Five (ISSN 08906823) was a magazine created by Mike Gunderloy in 1982. It mostly consisted of zine reviews along with news and commentary of interest to the zine community. Gunderloy published 44 issues of Factsheet Five before leaving the magazine in 1991. Hudson Luce published Issue 45, after which R. Seth Friedman took over the magazine and continued publishing through the 1990s.

Kerry Wendell Thornley, the co-founder of Discordianism and an acquaintance of Lee Harvey Oswald, wrote a column for Factsheet Five during the time that Gunderloy was the publisher. Thornley's column, "Conspiracy Corner," appeared with recurring titles such as "Turning Over New Leaves of Grass" and "Possibly Subversive Flower Arrangements." Topics included sex, religion, anarchism and Thornley's day-to-day life in the Atlanta area.

In the autumn of 2006 I began uploading Thornley's columns to Wikisource. A year later it appeared that these could be subject to deletion, so I began copying the columns, along with other Factsheet Five articles, to Summa Universalia (now offline).

I have also been uploading these columns and articles to Gyrofrog.com. This is a work-in-progress, and will remain so for the foreseeable future. I plan to make these available in both text and graphic versions; the former is searchable, selectable, (presumably) AT readable, etc. while the latter provides a visible (albeit low-quality) scan of the original publication.
